About Me
I believe therapy is most effective when anchored in science, empathetic, and responsive to the complexity of the individual. My goal is to help you regain clarity, improve resilience, and move forward with greater stability and intention.
Beyond formal training, I bring broad life experience and clinical wisdom developed over years of practice. I've worked across levels of care and with individuals from diverse backgrounds and stages of life.

Therapeutic Approach
My approach is collaborative and goal-directed. Patients experience my style as steady, thoughtful, and practical —direct without being confrontational. Above all, I get to know and understand you and what you want from therapy. Therapy provides space to understand patterns that developed within a personal history and then implement the tools to change them.
I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), person-centered therapy, Psychopharmacology, Inference-Based CBT (ICBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and biofeedback. Treatment emphasizes skill acquisition, measurable progress, and strengthening self-regulatory capacity, paced to your level of tolerance.
Professional Background
I am a licensed clinical psychologist serving adults and teens in San Diego. I hold a Doctorate in Psychology and a Postdoctoral Master of Science in Clinical Psychopharmacology.
In addition to clinical practice, I serve as an Adjunct Professor at Alliant University, where I teach psychopharmacology to psychologists pursuing advanced prescribing training. In addition, I am credentialed as a Master Addiction Counselor.
I have a broad background in the science, which informs how I conceptualize complex problems. I am attentive to biological, cognitive, behavioral, and relational variables, and I think carefully about how these systems interact.
Clinical Focus
Specialities
Psychopharmacology & Integrated Care
I treat anxiety, OCD, trauma, difficult to treat depression bipolar disorder, stress and behavioral issues, addictive behaviors (particularly alcohol use), traumatic grief, and relationship difficulties.
As a clinical psychopharmacologist, I provide medication education and I can collaborate closely with prescribing physicians to ensure cohesive care. I help patients understand the rationale, benefits, and risks of medications so that treatment decisions are informed and deliberate.
I work closely with Dr. Alexander Papp to coordinate ketamine treatment at our clinic. I regularly attend the Oxford International Ketamine Conference to remain current with developments in ketamine treatment.
Initial Session
Your initial 90‑minute visit is a quiet, unhurried time to talk about what’s been troubling you, how it has developed over time, and any important life or medical history.
By the end of the visit, I will share my impressions and make a plan with you to set goals.

What to Expect from Treatment
Follow-up Sessions
On-going 50-minute appointments scheduled after the initial evaluation. Patients may request an extended 75-minute session.
The frequency of sessions is based on your preferences and clinical considerations. I try to accommodate your preferred session date and time.
Integrated Care
I follow an integrated care model, if you choose. You can involve other members of your family or your care team. I invite the participation of others, based on your preferences. If you are also seeing Dr. Papp or Dr. A. Myers, I encourage a coordinated approach.
On-going Assessment
Periodic evaluations review clinical progress and assess therapeutic goals to ensure your care remains responsive to your evolving needs.
